El pasado 5 de mayo, Benjamín Cardona y Beatriz Montoya, miembros de nodo Noroccidente de la RNDP, recibieron el Premio Guillermo Gaviria Correa y Gilberto Echeverri Mejía a la Paz, la Noviolencia en la categoría “Mi vida es mi mensaje” por su amplia, comprometida e inspiradora trayectoria en la construcción de un país en paz con justicia social, con la Noviolencia como bandera.
Este reconocimiento se entregó en el marco de la Cumbre Internacional de la Noviolencia, en el municipio de Caicedo que se desarrolló con motivo de los 20 años del asesinato del entonces gobernador de Antioquia, Guillermo Gaviria Correa, de su asesor de paz, Gilberto Echeverri Mejía y ocho soldados que los acompañaban en el campamento en el que permanecían secuestrados, en zona rural del municipio de Urrao.
Desde la Red Nacional en Democracia y Paz, felicitamos con mucha emoción y orgullo a Benjamín y a Beatriz por este merecido reconocimiento. Su incansable trabajo ha sido, y seguirá siendo, luz en medio de la oscuridad de la desesperanza. Gracias infinitas por creer en que la paz es posible y por dedicar su vida a transformar este sueño en realidad. Sin duda alguna, la Noviolencia es el único camino.
